2020 will be closing in a week. But before we bid goodbye to this year, here is a look back at what happened in the world of Philippine Radio. For this part, we’ll travel back to 10 years ago, that is 2010. We’ll discuss the 10 stations which either made its debut or met its demise.
1. WRock Out
WRock Online
May 1: After 2 and a half years online, WRock Online ceased its broadcast due to streaming difficulties. It was announced on its Facebook page a few days prior. One of its former DJs became part of Radyo5 later that year.
2. Inquirer Ventures Into Radio
May 10: The Philippine Daily Inquirer ventured into radio. It took over 990 AM’s operations and launched it as Radyo Inquirer 990 with the call letters DZIQ. Though it first went on air online just in time for the 2010 elections…
