Emily Brontë’s classic novel “Wuthering Heights” has been made into several adaptations for decades. The first Philippine adaptation was the 1991 film Hihintayin Kita sa Langit, starring Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta, which in turn was adapted by the 2007 film The Promise, starring Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin and the 2012 series Walang Hanggang, starring Coco Martin and Julia Montes. Another adaptation straight from the book will hit Primetime with The World Between Us.

The upcoming series stars Alden Richards, Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Tom Rodriguez. This is the second team-up of Alden and Jasmine after I Can See You’s Love on The Balcony.

First aired on March 15, 2021, First Yaya stars Sanya Lopez in her first title role, along with Gabby Concepcion as the country President. The role was initially given to Marian Rivera as her comeback series, but later on backed out to focus on her family amid the CoViD-19 pandemic. Last November, the role was given to Sanya.

The series made an immediate impact, scoring an impressive average within 18-21% (based on AGB Nielsen NUTAM; excluding figures from GTV) throughout its entire run. It will conclude with a total of 78 episodes by Friday.

Last 2014, GMA aired a series whose lead has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) with Rhodora X. They’re into it once more with Ang Dalawang Ikaw.

The upcoming series marks the third team-up of Ken Chan and Rita Daniela. This time, they will be joined by Anna Vicente. With Afternoon Prime retaining its reputation as a platform for its up & coming stars, the series marks Anna’s first leading role.

The (mis)adventures of Puto continues, this time on TV.

Herbert Bautista reprises his title role in the upcoming series, along with McCoy de Leon as his son. This marks McCoy’s first main project with Viva.

The series takes place years after the original movie, with Puto (Herbert) as a single father to his son Uno (McCoy), a bullied teen who realizes he is half-dwende. Uno, like his father, is constantly bullied by his classmates. Confronted by challenges in life, Uno discovers that he has magical powers which can shake the lives of people around him. Heartful Cafe will close shop this Friday. But, Heart’s lovelife remains complicated.

First aired on April 26, 2021, Owe My Love stars Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco on their first pair-up. It was slated to air on GTV as a replacement for The Lost Recipe after Holy Week. However, it was postponed due to the ECQ implemented in the Greater Manila Area, prompting all networks to temporarily put a halt to production for taped shows. When it was given the green light a couple of weeks later, it would air on GMA’s Telebabad block.

The series initially scored an impressive average within 12-14% (based on AGB Nielsen NUTAM). When it moved to a later timeslot last week to make way for a replay of Endless Love, it declined to an average of 8-9%. It will conclude with a total of 40 episodes by Friday.

Owe My Love’s Final Week

Owe My Love is coming to an end this Friday. But, Sensen and Migs still have unfinished business after a slew of mishaps.

First aired on February 15, 2021, Owe My Love stars Lovi Poe and Benjamin Alves as Sensen and Migs resectively, whose paths crossed amid the pandemic, with Sensen becoming financially indebted to Migs after a series of hardships. They are joined by Leo Martinez, Jackie Lou Blanco and Wynwyn Marquez.

The series performed well throughout its run, averaging within 10-13% (based on AGB Nielsen NUTAM). It will conclude with a total of 76 episodes by Friday.

The series helped promote the advantages and disadvantages of owing money, with romance and comedy perfectly added to the story. With a decent chemistry in Benjamin and Lovi, the supporting stars, with comedians comprising majority of it, added a lot of flavor to the series.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of 91.5 Big Radio. The frequency was formerly occupied by UBSI’s Energy FM for almost 8 years. The night prior, it had its despedida and its DJs announced that  it would return to terrestrial air the following month. But that’s another story.

BIGTIME LAUNCH

On June 1, 2011, Big Radio had its official launch with its slogan “Bigtime ang Radyo Ko”. With the station under Manny Luzon’s management, it became a sister station of 107.5 Win Radio. Its programming was a bit different from Win Radio’s. Not to mention it had an all-day Saturday program which aired classic hits called Bigtime Oldies and its all-day Sunday extension called Big Big Weekend, which also features 60s music.

After 8 and a half years, the 2nd season of Pepito Manaloto is coming to an end.

For the past 11 years, the sitcom stars Michael V. as the titular role, along with Manilyn Reynes, and later on Jake Vargas and Angel Satsumi, completing the Manaloto family. The sitcom has delivered a perfect mix of comedy and Filipino values, showcasing the lives of Pepito and his family from rags to riches.

The long-running sitcom began its first season on March 28, 2010 and ended on March 25, 2012 with 105 episodes. Due to public demand, it returned on air on September 22, 2012 with another season as Ang Tunay na Kuwento and has dominated Saturday evenings since then.
