Today marks the 10th anniversary of 95.5 Pinas FM. This was the time the station returned to the airwaves after almost 4 years of inactivity.

FEEL THE COMEBACK

The station was known in the 2000s as simply DM 95.5 before going off the air sometime in the middle of 2007. It was the station I was tuned in to during my grade school years. During the years of its absence, I even wished that it would be back on the air. And it did.

On April 2011, the station returned on air, this time as Pinas FM. Come May, the station started airing teasers about its launch, containing samples from select DJs.

ANG PAMBANSANG LAUNCH

On May 16, Pinas FM had its official launch with its slogan “Ang Pambansang FM”. Veteran DJs from Pinoy Radio era who dominated Weekdays were Rick Stryker (Pambansang Bro), Raymond Stone

More secrets within the circle reveal as Bagong Umaga is on its final week.

First aired on October 26, 2020, Bagong Umaga stars Heaven Peralejo, Barbie Imperial, Michelle Vito, Tony Labrusca, Yves Flores and Kiko Estrada as friends from different backgrounds. It was initially introduced as Cara Y Cruz, with Julia Barretto, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte and Marco Gumabao initially being part of it. At the end of September, upon Julia’s transfer to Viva, it was revealed that the stars mentioned won’t be part of it. Heaven took over Julia’s role.

It is the 4th most watched series on iWantTFC and an average of 52 million views on Kapamilya Online Live. As the first drama series upon the network’s return to free TV via A2Z, it scored an average of 1-2% (based on AGB Nielsen NUTAM). It will have a total of 129 episodes by Friday.

The upcoming series stars Julie Anne San Jose and David Licauco on their first pair-up. This is Julie Anne’s first series in three years and David’s first leading role after a string of third wheel roles.

It was initially introduced as Burado, with initial scenes shot in Thailand. However, its production was hampered numerous times due to the pandemic and the temporary closure of ABS-CBN due to the expiration of its franchise, leading to its cancellation on August. It was replaced with the current title and a modified plot.

Niña Niño involves the lives of siblings Niña and Niño in the big city, in which they discover that life is hard. In order to survive, they become con-artists who scam their way to earn money. A series of events will change their lives for good.

Joining the stellar cast of Niña Niño are Empoy Marquez, Lilet Esteban, Ruby Ruiz, Ian Pangilinan, Sachzna, Junyka Santarin, Arron Villaflor, Moi Bien and Dudz Teraña. The series, which is a co-production of Cignal Entertainment and Spring Films, is directed by Thop Nazareno.

After 16 years, one of ABC’s iconic shows returns to TV5. And that is the karaoke game show Sing Galing.

The upcoming reboot is hosted by Randy Santiago, Donita Nose and K Brosas, collectively known as the “sing masters”, with Rey Valera, Ronnie Liang and Jessa Zaragoza serving as the judges, and Zendee serving as the host for the online segments.

In every episode of Sing Galing, three contestants called “singtestants” will compete through three rounds. The songs will be chosen randomly for each contestant. The contest also offers a bonus round where contestants sing to a randomly selected song with missing lyrics. Throughout the rounds, the signature animated genie will appear on screen to strike a gong whenever a contestant goes out of tune or misses a certain part of the lyrics, making the contestant lose the chance of winning. The winners will vye for the grand finals.
