Lunch Out Loud To Hype Up Weekday Noon

Years ago, TV5 entered the noontime competition with Wowowillie. It was cancelled after 9 months due to stiff competition in the said timeslot. This time, TV5 is back on it with Lunch Out Loud.

The upcoming show is hosted by Billy Crawford and Alex Gonzaga, along with Bayani Agbayani, K Brosas, Isabelle Daza, KC Montero, Wacky Kiray, Michael Flores, and social media star Macoy Dubs. This marks Alex’s return to TV5 after 7 years. Bayani was no stranger to noontime as he hosted GMA’s Salo Salo Together and ABSCBN’s Magandang Tanghali Bayan in the past. Isabelle was a co-host of Eat Bulaga before moving to ABSCBN.

Like any other noontime shows, Lunch Out Loud will have its own segments, including:

  1. Quiz Universe, a beauty pageant where each contestant will wear their costumes and PPE outfit, and go through a Q&A segment.

Walang Hanggang Paalam to Premiere on Monday

Kapamilya Channel has another primetime series on a roll with Walang Hanggang Paalam.

The upcoming series stars Paulo Avelino, Zanjoe Marudo, Angelica Panganiban and Arci Muñoz. Angelica and Zanjoe were paired in the daytime series Playhouse. Paulo and Angelica were paired in the 2016 movie The Unmarried Wife.

Walang Hanggang Paalam involves the lives of Celine (Angelica) and Emman (Paulo), a former couple who are forced to cooperate after their son gets kidnapped.

Joining the cast of Walang Hanggang Paalam are Cherry Pie Picache, Tonton Gutierrez, Lotlot de Leon, Ronnie Lazaro, JC Santos, McCoy de Leon, Mary Joy Apostol, Sherry Lara, Victor Silaya, Javi Benitez and Kaori Oinuma, with Jake Cuenca on a special participation role. The series, which is under Dreamscape Entertainment, is directed by Manny Palo and Darnel Villaflor.

This month, some of GMA’s weekend shows, including The Boobay and Tekla Show and Pepito Manaloto, have started airing new episodes. While its weekday series have resumed taping under the new normal, Descendants of the Sun and Prima Donnas are among those which have fresh episodes slated to air next month.

Amid the pandemic, GMA launched a drama anthology series called I Can See You, which will feature a story every week.

First series will be Love On The Balcony, starring Alden Richards, Pancho Magno, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith. The miniseries tells the story of Iñigo (Alden), a wedding video photographer, who fell in love with Leah (Jasmine), a frontliner nurse, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. A Soldier’s Heart has until Friday to complete its mission.

First aired on January 20, A Soldier’s Heart stars Gerald Anderson, Carlo Aquino, Nash Aguas, Elmo Magalona, Jerome Ponce, Vin Abrenica, Yves Flores & Sue Ramirez as soldiers from different backgrounds who aim to serve and protect their country, but are bounded by the values they believe in.

On its first season, the series initially performed very well, averaging within 9-10% (based on AGB Nielsen NUTAM), and was a winning team against One Of The Baes. However, the emergence of Love Of My Life at the start of February changed its fortunes. Since then, it fell to an average of 6-8%. Happy Time To Shine On Monday

Net 25 steps into noontime competition with Happy Time.

The show is hosted by Kitkat, Anjo Yllana and Janno Gibbs. Anjo and Janno were the main stars in GMA’s 90s sitcom Ober Da Bakod. Anjo left Eat Bulaga last month after more than 20 years as co-host. Janno was host of the defunct TV5 show Happy Truck ng Bayan.

Each host will have their own segments for people in need amid the Pandemic. As announced by Janno, among its segments are Hanger Games and Bake News.

With the show going head-to-head with Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime starting this Monday, one can only hope that it can keep up with its competitors with the trio’s own brew of fun.

Love Thy Woman is now on its final week. But, the battle of the widows and daughters is still on a roll.

First aired on February 10, Love Thy Woman marks the fourth series of on-and-off screen partners Kim Chiu & Xian Lim, with Yam Concepcion portraying as their third wheeler. It was initially slated to air on primetime as a replacement for The General’s Daughter. However, it was only early this year that it was given the green light. With its Primetime Bida block already occupied, it was left no choice but to air on Kapamilya Gold as a replacement of long-running Kadenang Ginto.

10 years ago today, DZRJ 810 was relaunched with the slogan The Voice of The Philippines. This was the country’s only all-English station after the defunct Rock 990 went off the air a few years prior. It had its official launch on October 4.

On August 23, 2010, Wow FM was officially launched. It had a bizarre tagline called Lavheet!, which is “Love It” pronounced with your tongue pulled out. Later on, it stuck with Wow! Labas Dila!. Playlist-wise, majority of its songs resemble those of sister station Magic.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of 103.5 Wow FM. This was the first (and only) time for The Radio Partners to venture into the mass-based market.

Kapamilya Channel will have its first primetime series with Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin.

The upcoming series stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Iza Calzado, Sam Milby and Maricel Soriano. This marks the first time for Jodi to portray a protagonist-antagonist role. The series was originally titled as What Matters Most.

Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin tells the story of best friends Marissa (Jodi) and Ellice (Iza). TV5 Returns to Local Programming

Today marks the 12th anniversary of TV5. For the past few months, it has been airing reruns of its old shows. After its plan of rebranding to One TV didn’t push through, the network faces new opportunities on its birth month.

After a 4-year hiatus, Kris Aquino returns to TV with Love Life with Kris. The premiere date of the show, which is produced by her new talent agency Cornerstone Entertainment, has yet to be announced. The said company is also slated to produce a couple of shows for the network.

Talentadong Pinoy returns on its 8th season as Bangon Talentadong Pinoy, with Eat Bulaga host Ryan Agoncillo returning as host, along with John Arcilla, Janice de Belen and Joross Gamboa as judges.
